Traditional Kindle books in the AZW format could only be viewed and enjoyed on a native Kindle device, making accessibility difficult for users of other devices. With newer Kindle devices using upgraded file formats such as azw3, azw and kf8, there is increased flexibility in 3rd party devices as well as formats such as PDF and ePub.
The new Kindle DRM converter compensates for the lack of flexibility for both older and newer file formats by conveniently converting all types of .azw files to PDF, iBook's, ePub and other popular open source formats. The new application will allow e-book enthusiasts new flexibility and options for enjoying their Kindle books on the go without being encumbered by their laptop.
Some new features include the import of multiple common e-book file formats such as the Sony e-reader, DRM protected MOBI files, KOBO, Nook books and locked Adobe PDF files. The application's GUI has the capacity to detect virtually any DRM protected documents on the PC, and auto-import them into the converter. Users can additionally hand-select particular files to be converted if they choose.
A Kindle to PDF converter for Mac is also being released. Built from the ground-up for Mac and not a PC port, the Mac version has every bit of functionality as its PC counterpart. Both the PC and Mac versions will offer free downloads with limited functionality allowing users the opportunity to upgrade to premium should they decide.
The DRM conversion application allows for entire libraries of e-books and documents to be imported at once and converted via multi-threading so that the whole library is essentially converted in one click. The exported documents and Kindle books retain 100% of their functionality. Chapters, videos and photos are clickable and hyperlinks retain their functionality to 3rd party websites.
To date the software has received nearly 12,000 downloads and visitors are increasing exponentially. The developers hope to have the application available for mobiles and portable devices early in 2016. A release in the German and Spanish languages is scheduled for the 2nd quarter of 2016.
