(Wireless-NewsWire.Com, July 06, 2015 ) London, UK -- Apple's iOS enjoyed a surge in popularity during the opening quarter of 2015 in Europe's major markets with the iPhone 6 winning over Android smartphone users, it is being claimed.
Apple iOS smartphones made up over 20% of sales on the continent during the period. Industry analysts are claiming that almost a third of new Apple customers are former Android users.
Carolina Milanesi, Kantar Worldpanel ComTech's chief of research was reported in Latin Post as saying: "In the first quarter of 2015, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus continued to attract consumers across Europe, including users who previously owned an Android smartphone."
"On average, across Europe's big five countries (UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain) during the first quarter, 32.4% of Apple's new customers switched to iOS from Android."
Smartphone accessory producers are keeping a close eye on the strength of iPhone 6 range sales in the UK and across the English Channel. George Balfour-Kinnear of Boom Products, producer of the Shock-2 iPhone case range said: "The increasing popularity of Apple iOS is hardly surprising.
